A proposal to allow open alcohol containers in Downtown Helena will be up for discussion at a Helena City Commission meeting Wednesday, Feb. 7.
The policy would allow people to carry open alcohol containers in a designated portion of Downtown Helena during certain times of the day.
The policy has plenty of support from local businesses, but has received some pushback from people worried about unintended consequences.
The meeting is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday in the commission chambers on the third floor of the City-County Building on Park Avenue.
The commission will hear from city officials on the issue and will take public comment at the meeting.
