Broadwater Health Center in Townsend and Billings Clinic have signed a letter of intent to consider an institutional affiliation between the two health care centers and develop a transition plan.

On Tuesday, Billings Clinic and Broadwater Health Center will hold a listening session about their planned partnership in Townsend.

In April, St. Peter's Health in Helena and Broadwater Health Center in Townsend announced that they had signed a letter of intent to consider an institutional affiliation. That plan fell through, however, and the Broadwater Health Center's board of directors unanimously voted earlier in August to pursue a partnership with Billings Clinic instead.

Billings Clinic spokesperson Zach Benoit said Tuesday night's meeting will be a chance for the health care provider to meet the community.

"We'll be introducing Billings Clinic to the community, sharing a bit of our vision of what this new partnership looks like and listening to/answering questions from the community," Benoit said.

The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 417 Broadway St. in Townsend at 6 p.m. in the ambulance meeting room.
