  • At 2:45 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Oakes and Aspen. The male driver was identified and it was discovered he had a valid warrant for his arrest. A search of his vehicle occurred where drugs and drug paraphernalia were located. The 32-year-old Helena man was arrested for the warrant, probation violation, possession of dangerous drugs (misdemeanor), and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center. 
  • At 6:26 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1600 block of North Chestnut for a report of a theft of property from a motor vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked. 
  • At 8:12 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Stuart for a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. It was reported the vehicle was locked, but forced entry was not used. 
  • At 8:58 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1100 block of Sonoma for a report of identity theft. The case is active. 
  • At 10:11 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the area of 5th and Last Chance Gulch for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. 
  • At 10:03 a.m., an officer was dispatched the 2300 block of Montana Avenue for a report of fraudulent check activity. 
  • At 10:19 a.m., a school resource officer responded to the 1000 block of North Rodney for a report a minor in possession of tobacco. The minor was cited and referred to Municipal Court.   
  • At 11:14 a.m., an officer responded to the 1400 block of Aspen for a report of a possible stolen vehicle. The case is active. 
  • At 12:36 p.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of Logan for a report of vandalism to playground equipment. 
  • At 12:45 p.m. an officer responded to the 3100 block of North Montana For a report of a shoplift that occurred. 
  • At 1:09 p.m., an officer responded to the 1400 block of Broadwater Circle for a report of a theft of a bicycle.   
  • At 1:19 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1200 block of Walnut for a report of vandalism to a vehicle. 
  • At 2:01 p.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of Hannaford for a report of damage to a building.

  • At 4:53 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Rodney for a report of a male at that location with a valid arrest warrant. The 24-year-old Helena man was identified and arrested for the warrant.  He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center.    
  • At 5:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Missoula for a report of a domestic disturbance. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 25-year-old Helena man was arrested for partner/family member assault. He was booked into the Lewis and Clark County Detention Center. 
  • At 5:38 p.m., an officer responded to the 2700 block of Colonial for a report of an assault. The case is active.
  • At 5:49 p.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of North Last Chance Gulch for a report of two males fighting. The males were located and identified. A 19-year-old Helena man was cited for disorderly conduct and referred to Municipal Court. Also, a 17-year-old Helena male was cited for disorderly conduct and referred to juvenile probation. 
  • At 6:45 p.m., an officer responded to the 1200 block of Grant for a report of vandalism to a residence. 
  • At 7:08 p.m. an officer responded to the 1400 block of North Benton for a report of two juveniles fighting. At the conclusion of the investigation, a juvenile female was cited for partner/family member assault. She was referred to juvenile probation. 

The Helena Police Department responded to 146 calls for service. Of those calls, they responded to seven vehicle crashes, 10 welfare checks, four trespassing complaints, two disturbance calls, and 17 suspicious circumstance calls.

As of Friday morning, the county jail held 105 inmates (95 for felonies and 10 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 130 inmates at various detention facilities. 109 clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 59 are on PBT (Personal Breath Test) and 50 are on SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet). Pretrial Services is currently working with 167 clients.
