  • At 8:56 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1300 block of N. Montana Ave. for a report of a burglary to a business. The case is active.
  • At 9:04 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of N Hoback for a report of a male lying on the ground with a gun next to him. The male was located and the gun was determined to be a BB gun. At the conclusion if the investigation, the 41-year-old Helena man was cited for Discharging a Firearm in the City Limits, Criminal Mischief, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 11:32 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of Prospect for a report of a shoplifter in custody. The 41-year-old East Helena woman was identified and cited for theft. She was referred to municipal court.
  • At 11:33 a.m., an officer was dispatched to the 2900 block of National for a report of a theft of a package from a residence.
  • At 1:56 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 2800 block of Mercer Loop for a report of a theft of a motor vehicle. It was reported a white 2018 Toyota 4Runner with Idaho plate number 8BKK489 was stolen.
  • At 3:33 p.m., an officer responded to the 200 block of Harrison Ave. for a report of credit card fraud.
  • At 7:33 p.m., an officer responded to meet a complainant at the law enforcement center for a report of located counterfeit money.
  • At 9:15 p.m., an officer responded to the 2100 block of 9th Ave. for a report of fraud by phone scam.
  • At 9:43 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Camelot for a report of a family disturbance.
  • At 10:23 p.m., an officer responded to the 1800 block of 11th Ave. for a report of a disturbance involving several people. When the officer arrived, most of the involved parties had left. One male, a 21-year-old Helena man, was identified and was discovered to have warrants for his arrest. He was arrested and booked into the LCSO jail.

The Helena Police Department responded to 100 calls for service. Of those calls, they responded to one vehicle crash, eight welfare checks, three trespassing complaints, six disturbance calls, and 10 suspicious circumstance calls.

As of Friday morning, the county jail held 108 inmates (96 for felonies and 12 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 127 inmates at various detention facilities.
