  • At 8:14 a.m. an officer was in the area of the 1800 block of Custer Avenue and conducted a welfare check on a female at this location. The officer met with the female and learned the female had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. The 44-year-old female was placed under arrest for the outstanding East Helena warrant along with a Probation Violation. She was booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 9:19 a.m. an officer took a report of a juvenile that was in possession of a vape device. Investigation into the matter led to a 15-year-old male being issued a citation for MIP (tobacco). He was referred to Helena Municipal Court.
  • At 11:03 a.m. an officer took a report of theft from a business located in the 1800 block of Custer Avenue. After reviewing video, the officer observed the female that was arrested earlier in the morning for an outstanding warrant. The officer served the 44-year-old female a citation for misdemeanor theft. She was left in the custody of the LCSO Jail.
  • At 11:30 a.m. an officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Legend Loop for a report of a domestic disturbance. Investigation into the matter led to a 29-year-old male being placed under arrest for PFMA (first offense). He was booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 1:43 p.m. an officer took a report of theft from a business located in the 3100 block of N. Montana Avenue. There is suspect information and this case is active.
  • At 2:38 p.m. an officer took a report of theft from a business located in the 3200 block of Dredge Drive. There is suspect information and this case is active.
  • At 3:19 p.m. an officer took a report of a possible theft of mail from the 2600 block of Sunlight Circle. A large amount of unopened mail was found in a trash can in this area. This case is active.
  • At 3:38 p.m. an officer took a report of a forgery.
  • At 4:15 p.m. an officer took a report of a theft of packages from the 800 block of Tara Court. The officer was able to track down the suspect male that took the packages of the porch of a residence. The complainant that called Police was able to give a good description of the male as well as the vehicle the male drove off in after he took the packages. Subsequently, a 21-year-old male was issued a citation for misdemeanor theft. He was referred to Helena Municipal Court.
  • At 5:22 p.m. an officer took a report of a domestic disturbance. The officer met with all parties and investigation into the matter led to no arrests being made at this time.
  • At 11:10 p.m. an officer took a report of theft from a business located in the 300 block of Euclid Avenue. Investigation into the matter led to a 30-year-old female being issued a citation for misdemeanor theft. She was referred to Helena Municipal Court.

Dec. 5

  • At 12:04 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of N. Montana Avenue and Billings Avenue for a traffic violation. Investigation into the traffic stop led to the 21-year-old female driver being placed under arrest for two outstanding warrants, along with operating a motor vehicle without insurance. She was booked into the LCSO Jail. Additionally, a passenger in the vehicle, an 18-year-old male, was also placed under arrest for a no contact order violation. He was also booked into the LCSO Jail.
  • At 4:51 a.m. an officer took a report of stolen vehicle from the 2400 block of Broadway Street. The vehicle is described as 2009 blue Ford Focus with Montana License plate number BUP 577.
  • At 5:25 a.m. an officer took a report of stolen vehicle from the 1100 block of Knight Street. The vehicle is described as 1996 white Ford Explorer with California license plate number 7KWD804.
  • At 6:04 a.m. an officer took a report of theft from a vehicle that was parked in the 2000 block of 9th Avenue.
  • At 7:05 a.m. an officer investigated a reported burglary to a shed in the 500 block of 3rd Street.
  • At 7:05 a.m an officer took a report of a possible attempted burglary from the 500 block of 3rd Street.
  • At 7:54 a.m. an officer took a report of theft from a vehicle that was parked in the 500 block of Sussex Court.
  • At 7:58 a.m. an officer received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle in the 500 block of Sussex.

  • At 10:31 a.m. an officer responded to a reported shoplifting in the 2700 block of Prospect.
  • At 12:08 p.m. officers responded to the 500 block of N. Last Chance Gulch for a male with an outstanding warrant. At the conclusion of the incident, the 42-year-old male from Helena was arrested for outstanding warrant and possession of a dangerous drug with the intent to distribute.
  • At 12:51 p.m. a report was received of a burglary to a residence that occurred in the 200 block of Greenwood.
  • At 2:51 p.m. an officer responded to a reported shoplifting in the 2700 block of Prospect.
  • At 2:46 p.m. an officer responded to a reported bike theft that occurred in the 400 block of Park Avenue.
  • At 2:57 p.m. an officer investigated a reported shoplifting in the 2700 block of Prospect.

On Dec. 5, the Helena Police department received 92 calls for service including 10 vehicle crashes, two burglaries, seven disturbances, two stolen vehicles, eight suspicious circumstances, eight sexual/violent offender registration checks, 10 thefts and five welfare checks.

  • At 12:05 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of N. Montana and Last Chance Gulch. At the conclusion of the stop a 49-year-old male from Helena was arrested for third offense aggravated DUI, speeding, no insurance and driving suspended.
  • At 1:54 a.m. an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Helena and National. At the conclusion of the stop, a 27-year-old male from Helena was arrested for first offense DUI.

As of Thursday morning, the county jail held 107 inmates (100 for felonies and seven for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 123 inmates at various detention facilities. One-hundred-seventeen clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 47 are on PBT (Personal Breath Test), 47 are on SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet), 18 are on GPS and five are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 241 clients.
