  • At 9:00 a.m., a report was received that an individual was in the 100 block of North Rodney with an outstanding warrant. An officer responded and arrested a 41-year-old female from Helena on an outstanding warrant.
  • At 10:28 a.m., an officer received a report of a theft and alteration of a check that occurred in the 3100 block of Saddle Drive.
  • At 10:57 a.m., an officer responded to a report of a theft that occurred in the 2700 block of Prospect.
  • At 1:58 p.m., an officer received a report of a theft of fuel from a vehicle that occurred in the 900 of Harrison.  
  • At 3:26 p.m., an officer received a report of a theft of a license plate from the 200 block of Cruse Avenue.
  • At 5:14 p.m., officers responded to the 800 block of North Oregon to conduct a welfare check. At the conclusion of the investigation, a 36-year-old male from Helena was arrested for an outstanding warrant, possession of dangerous drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstructing a police officer.
  • At 7:02 p.m., officers responded to the 2700 block of Prospect for a reported trespassing. At the conclusion of the incident, a 45-year-old male from Helena was cited for trespass and released.

Dec. 4

  • At 12:57 a.m., officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance in the 700 block of 6th Avenue. At the conclusion of the incident, a 20-year-old female from Helena was arrested for partner family member assault and underage possession of alcohol.

  • At 2:29 a.m., an officer responded to investigate a criminal mischief in the 1200 block of Winnie.

On Dec. 3, 2018, the Helena Police Department received 64 calls for service including five vehicle crashes, three animal control calls, five suspicious circumstances, five thefts and eight welfare checks.

As of Tuesday morning, the county jail held 104 inmates (97 for felonies and seven for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 121 inmates at various detention facilities. One-hundred-seventeen clients are serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 47 are on PBT (Personal Breath Test), 47 are on SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet), 18 are on GPS, and five are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 234 clients.
