  • At 1107 a.m., an officer was dispatched to 600 block of North Montana Avenue for a report of a shoplift from a business that occurred earlier. The juvenile suspect were later located and cited for theft. They were referred to Juvenile Probation.

  • At 3:32 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of Missoula Avenue for a report of a runaway juvenile. The juvenile was located a short time later.
  • At 3:56 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of Missoula Avenue for a report of criminal mischief to property.
  • At 5:13 p.m., an officer was dispatched the 3100 block of Bridger Drive for a report of threats. The case is active.
  • At 6:05 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1400 block of Cherry Avenue for a report of drug activity. The case is active.
  • At 8:08 p.m., an officer responded to the Law Enforcement Center for a report of a domestic disturbance. The case is active.
  • At 8:44 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Lyndale Avenue to conduct a welfare check on a male. The male was located and found to be in possession of dangerous drugs. The 21-year-old Helena man was cited for possession of dangerous drugs (misdemeanor) and referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 9:29 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Lyndale Avenue for a report of a juvenile male that had been consuming alcohol. The juvenile male was located and identified. It was determined he had been drinking and he was cited for underage possession of alcohol. He was referred to Municipal Court.
  • At 10:47 p.m., an officer responded to the 100 block of Last Chance Gulch for a report a disorderly male. No citations were issued.
  • At 11:15 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Benton Avenue and Stuart Street. The driver demonstrated signs of impairment and was tested for DUI. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 69-year-old Helen man was arrested for DUI and careless driving. He was booked into the LCSO jail.
  • At 11:48 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of 6th and Fuller avenues. The male driver demonstrated signs of impairment and was tested for DUI. At the conclusion of the investigation, the 61-year-old Helena man was arrested for DUI. While on the booking floor, he was found to be in possession of dangerous drugs. He was booked into the LCSO jail for both charges.
  • At 11:59 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the 800 block of Colleen Street for a report of a male at that location with a valid arrest warrant. The 28-year-old Helena man was identified and arrested for the warrant. He was booked into the LCSO jail.

The Helena Police Department responded to 104 calls for service. Of those calls, they responded to six vehicle crashes, seven welfare checks, three trespassing complaints and 17 suspicious circumstance calls.

As of Saturday morning, the county jail held 105 inmates (94 for felonies and 11 for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 123 inmates at various detention facilities. There are 116 clients serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 46 are on PBT (Personal Breath Test), 48 are on SCRAM (Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet), 13 are on GPS and nine are on house arrest. Pretrial Services is currently working with 218 clients.
