Nov. 4

  • At 7:23 a.m., an officer responded to a reported theft from a motor vehicle in the 1400 block of Missoula Avenue.
  • At 8:02 a.m., an officer responded to a reported theft from a motor vehicle in the 2000 block of North Oakes Street. A handgun and other items were stolen from the vehicle.
  • At 9:41 a.m., an officer investigated a burglary to a garage in the 1600 block of Boulder Avenue. Various vehicle parts and tools were stolen in the burglary.
  • At 5:03 p.m., an officer responded to the 2700 block of Prospect Avenue for a reported shoplifting. At the conclusion of the incident, a 68-year-old Helena woman was cited for theft and released.
  • At 5:51 p.m., officers responded to 2400 block of Broadway to conduct a welfare check. At the conclusion of the incident, a 48-year-old Helena man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and possession of dangerous drugs.
  • At 9:01 p.m., an officer responded to a reported theft from a motor vehicle in the 600 block of North Ewing Street.

Nov. 5

  • At 12:55 a.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop in the area of Lyndale Avenue and Logan Street. At the conclusion of the stop, a 22-year-old Helena man was arrested for aggravated DUI (second offense).
  • At 1:09 p.m., officers responded to the 600 block of North California Street for a reported domestic disturbance.
  • At 6:49 p.m., an officer responded to a reported criminal mischief to a vehicle in 1200 block of North Montana Avenue.

On Sunday, the Helena Police Department received 71 calls for service, including four vehicle crashes, four animal control calls, seven false alarms, seven suspicious circumstances, four thefts and five welfare checks.

As of Monday morning, the county jail held 102 inmates (94 for felonies and eight for misdemeanors). In total, the county has 121 inmates at various detention facilities. There are 123 clients serviced by the 24/7 sobriety program. Of these, 47 are on Personal Breath Test, 51 are on Secure Continuous Remote Alcohol Monitor bracelet, 16 are on GPS and nine are on house arrest. Pretrial services is currently working with 218 clients.
