A Helena man is accused of assaulting a partner or family member while under the influence of alcohol.
Elsworth Mead, 33, is being charged with two counts of partner or family member assault, one a misdemeanor and one a felony, as well as resisting arrest and driving under the influence.
Officers responded to a report of a verbal altercation involving Mead, who was accused of acting aggressively, damaging the building and grabbing the victim, causing reasonable apprehension of bodily harm.
Officers made contact with Mead as he sat in a running vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, according to court documents. Mead had a blood alcohol concentration of 0.16, twice the legal limit, according to court documents.
Mead refused to comply with officers as they attempted to apprehend him, according to court documents.
The victim told officers Mead grabbed the victim around the neck, according to court documents.
Mead has one previous domestic violence conviction, according to court documents.
