A 39-year-old Helena man is being charged with strangling a family member, a felony.

Gerald Nevermissesashot was arrested on March 12 after he called police and reported he was being held at gunpoint and strangled, according to court documents.

Officers responded to the scene and spoke with someone who said he had been strangled by Nevermissesashot, court documents say. The alleged victim said he had to punch Nevermissesashot multiple times in the face so he would stop, according to court documents.

Court documents say there was probable cause to arrest Nevermissesashot based on the alleged victim's injuries.
