A 50-year-old Helena man is accused of assaulting a partner and burning her possessions.

Robert Mahr is being charged with arson and partner or family member assault.

A deputy was called to a domestic disturbance on Feb. 10.

Mahr's partner told police that Mahr was riding in a vehicle when he became angry and punched the windshield, causing damage. He is also accused of grabbing her and pushing her out of the vehicle, ripping her coat.

When the deputy spoke with Mahr, he said he was unable to remember most of the incident, according to court documents. The deputy was called again when Mahr’s partner arrived home and found many of her possessions had been burned, according to court documents.
