A 33-year-old Helena man faces a felony charge of robbery after authorities say he pulled a knife on employees during an attempted theft.
Kelcey Scott Darlow is accused of trying to steal a basket of merchandise from Super 1 Foods at about 12:30 a.m. Monday. Police say Darlow punched two employees as he tried to flee the store.
Darlow is accused of striking one of the men in the face and the other in his neck. Both employees had superficial injuries, according to documents filed in Lewis and Clark County Justice Court.
After Darlow was handcuffed by the loss-prevention officers, he allegedly pulled a knife from his back pocket and flipped it open. The documents say the two employees then took him to the ground and awaited police response.
At his initial appearance in court Monday, Darlow's bond was set at $5,000.
