Injuries to a 17-month-old girl’s vaginal area led to the arrest of a 23-year-old Helena man.
Dylan Houston Dunn faces a felony charge of sexual intercourse without consent following an investigation by the Helena Police Department.
The charges allege that Dunn was alone for a few minutes with the victim as he drove the child and her mother to run errands. When she returned to the vehicle, Dunn and the child were reportedly missing and could not be located for several minutes, according to court documents. Once located, they continued to run errands until he dropped them off at home.
During a diaper change the mother reportedly noticed an injury to her daughter’s vaginal area. Subsequent examination by a pediatrician noted the injury was consistent with an object being inserted, court documents say.
Surveillance video reportedly shows Dunn entering a women’s restroom with the alleged victim and exiting a few minutes later, according to court documents.
When interviewed by police, Dunn allegedly made several statements inconsistent with the mother’s account and surveillance video, court documents say.
Dunn’s bond was set at $100,000.
