A Helena man is jailed on his fifth charge of driving under the influence.
Authorities say an off-duty police officer saw Kristian King Casman, 39, staggering out of a gas station on Euclid Avenue Monday night. The officer also noted Casman smelled of alcohol.
A responding officer witnessed him get into a vehicle and drive from the gas station, court documents state. A traffic stop was conducted just outside of the parking lot.
The documents allege Casman had slow movements, bloodshot eyes and slurred speech. Casman reportedly denied consuming any alcohol.
During field sobriety testing, Casman showed impairment in all tasks, the documents note. He refused to submit to a breath or blood test.
Casman also is accused of driving on a revoked license and failing to have insurance.
