Authorities say a Helena woman chased a man with a truck then crashed into a house, causing significant damage early Friday morning. The woman was reportedly upset following a one-night stand.

Trudy Kay VonBergen, 55, is jailed on a felony charge of criminal endangerment.

At 1:40 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to the 3000 block of Valley Drive for a report of an argument between a woman and a man. Three minutes later, dispatch received another call advising a Dodge Dakota had crashed into a house.

Court documents say VonBergen drove to the home, where she and a man began arguing because another woman was at the residence. When asked to describe their relationship, the man told deputies the two had a "one-night stand" about two months ago.

The man asked VonBergen to leave. The documents allege she began to drive the truck in circles in the driveway, chasing the victim with the vehicle.

The truck came within five feet of the man's roommate, who was sitting in an enclosed patio at the time, the documents say.

The man reported receiving cuts to his ring finger and wounds to his shin in the incident.

Deputies suspected VonBergen, who smelled of alcohol and had bloodshot, glassy eyes, was intoxicated. She refused to do any field sobriety testing, give a breath sample or provide blood for testing, the documents note.

VonBergen also faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence and criminal mischief.
