Travis Tritt is a country music legend, and now his 20-year-old daughter, Tyler Reese Tritt, is following in her famous dad’s footsteps. She has been singing her whole life, and last year she released her first solo single, “Perfect.”
“My goal for this song is for people to be able to relate,” she said in a press release. “I want everyone to hear it and say, ‘That reminds me of my first love.'”
Back in 2013, a then 15-year-old Tyler recorded a duet with her dad, a cover of Patty Smyth and Don Henley’s “Sometimes Love Just Ain’t Enough.” The song was the lead single off the elder Tritt’s album, “The Calm After.” Although he had originally thought of established artists like Jennifer Nettles or Wynonna Judd to sing the song with him, he was impressed with his daughter’s vocals when he heard her singing along to the tune during a road trip.
The official music video for the duo’s version has more than eight million views on YouTube:
They’ve gone on to perform together live during her dad’s tours.
It’s clear that Tyler has a ton of admiration for her superstar dad, as evidenced by this sweet photo of the two she shared on Instagram, which she captioned, “Daddy’s Girl Always”:
Although her dad admits he initially worried about his daughter getting into the entertainment business at an early age, he thinks she benefits from his experience.
“But from being around me and being around the business, she knows what kind of hard work and what kind of commitment it takes,” he told Taste of Country in 2013. “So I think that having that kind of education will be beneficial for her.”
On Father’s Day, Tyler paid tribute to her dad with some throwback photos of the pair performing together when she was a child:
“‘The only man a girl can depend on is her daddy’ – Grease,” she captioned the photos. “Happy Fathers Day to the funniest, craziest, sweetest, most talented, greatest dad in the whole wide world!”
We can’t wait to see where this descendant of country royalty goes next in her career!
