Dean and Mavis Parry will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary in Oregon with their daughters their families.
Dean Parry and Mavis Schoffelman were married on June 14, 1968, in the First English Lutheran Church, Lennox, South Dakota. They lived and worked in the Sioux Falls, South Dakota, area until 1975 when they moved to Missoula so Dean could complete a forestry degree from UM.
After graduation they moved to Gresham, Oregon, in 1978. They lived in Gresham for 27 years before retiring. Dean retired from the U.S. Forest Service in December 2004 and Mavis retired from 29 years in the banking industry in July 2004.
They are currently members of the East Helena United Methodist Church. They have two daughters -- Michelle Parry-Doran of Carlton, Oregon, and Lorissa (James) Davies of Newberg, Oregon. They also have three grandchildren -- Quinn and Tara Davies and Andrew Doran.
