John and Cherie Dahl of Rathdrum, Idaho, longtime Helena residents, recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a 40-day trip to Australia, New Zealand, American Somoa and Honolulu.
John and Cherie were honored by their son and his wife, Matt and Nida of Marysville, daughters and their husbands, Trista and Tim Lyman of Sandpoint, Idaho, and April and Kevin Smart of Post Falls, Idaho, and grandchildren with a dinner party in Marysville, Wash.
John and Cherie were married Aug. 19, 1967, at St. Mary’s Church in Helena. John retired from the Department of Transportation, Blue Cross of Montana and Placer Motors and was a 23-year member of the Montana National Guard. Cherie was a longtime first grade teacher at Cornerstone Christian Academy.
