Jim and Joann Christnacht will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary Thursday, Oct. 12. In honor of the occasion, they were feted by family this past summer at an early 60th anniversary party in Gerhart, Oregon. At the family gathering, they renewed their commitment to marriage under the auspices of Jim’s nephew the Rev. James Christnacht (who received his divinity degree online for $19.95).
Jim worked for the state of Montana until retiring, and Joann worked for the IRS until retiring. In retirement Jim focused on fixing up donated bikes and giving them to local kids who need a bike. Jim has repaired and donated more than 1,000 bikes to the youth of Helena. Joann for years served on the Civic Center and Western Rendezvous of Art boards. They both remain active in the Helena community with their volunteer work.
Jim and Joann have five children, Robert (Kristen), Thomas (Janet), Carol (Brad), Peter (Teresa), Paul (Teri). They have 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
