In today's busy everyday life, unlimited opportunities to spend time on the water don't exist for most people. This can especially be true when wishing to enjoy Helena’s area lakes when you don’t own a boat. True North Sailing Club offers a reasonable alternative to boat ownership while still providing members with the benefits at a fraction of the cost. TNSC currently operates three different sailboats - Spacesailer 18', Spacesailer 20' and C & C 27'. Each boat size offers a different sailing experience and both the Spacesailer and C&C sailboats are respected and renowned for their safety, ease of handling and performance and are ideal for both new and experienced sailors. Whether you want to learn the intricacies of racing or simply the sailing basics to enjoy a day on the water, members can set-up demos and lessons to help acheive their goals. The club manager, John "Laurie" Simms has more than 40 years of experience in sailing, from construction to instruction, and his mission is to make you feel confident and comfortable on the water. Front Street will soon be under construction from April 22 – Oct. 15. This will not only be an improvement of the paving but also the sewer and gutters along the length of it. In speaking to some of the business owners along there, they want the public to know that there will be side-street and pedestrian access at all times. Some of the businesses affected will be SMA Architects, SoFi, Information Technology Core, Bad Betty’s BBQ, Gulch Distillers, Helena Job Service, Front Street Learning Center and more. Businesses plan to keep the same business hours so the only change will be the access and parking areas. Parking will be available on 13th, lot 15 and the parking garage. We hope customers will be understanding and still patronize these businesses as they deal with the inconvenience.

Bert and Ernie’s will be holding their 45th anniversary of doing business in Helena. Friday, June 28th they will be hosting an old-fashioned block party on the street. To celebrate, they are bringing to the event, Helena’s own Justin Case Band and also Montana’s own Mission Mountain Wood Band. The fun starts at 5 p.m. and continues to midnight.
