To celebrate the 45th anniversary of owning and operating one of the area’s most-loved general stores, Allen’s Manix Store (The Trading Post) in Augusta is hosting an anniversary party on Saturday, June 15.

“We love this store, this community and the people who come from near and far to shop and visit,” said Susan Allen Ford, owner of Allen’s Manix Store, in a press release. “And we thought it was high time to celebrate 45 years of owning this business in the most beautiful place in the world.”

Anniversary festivities will include sales throughout the day on June 15. The party kicks off at 4 p.m. and includes food and drinks, ice cream, live music by the Allen Family Band and a dance in the store’s parking lot.

“Our family has always been musical and had a love for music,” Ford said. “My kids and nieces and nephews have played shows at various locations in Montana and are looking forward to coming together to perform some boot-stomping songs for the party.”

While the store originally opened in 1902, it was purchased by Clyde and Don Allen in 1974. Today, Clyde’s granddaughter and Don’s daughter, Susan Ford owns and operates it with her husband Steve.
