Palmquists celebrate 50th
Blaine and Judy Palmquist celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in early June with their children and grandchildren at Silver Mountain Lodge in Idaho following their second honeymoon in Hawaii in May.
Blaine and Judy met in Helena while attending Helena High School. After Blaine attended college at the University of Montana and served with the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam, they were married on May 10, 1969 at the St. Helena Cathedral. They settled in Helena, where they were blessed with four children.
During their early years of marriage, Blaine ran the family business, Palmquist Electric before becoming a master electrician and going on to work for Northwestern Energy (formerly Montana Power), where he worked in the Electric Meter Department. Blaine retired in 2016 after 37 years of service in the Helena community.
Judy put professional interests on hold to care for their four children, and once each were in school, began her career as a fitness instructor, trainer and even author of a fitness book. She also opened and ran one of Helena’s clothing boutiques, Legends Clothing for Women, and through her interest and contributions in helping women in the community, received recognition and awards from both the YWCA and Soroptimist International of Helena. Judy also serves on the board of directors for the Foundation for Animals.
Blaine and Judy continue their adventures as a couple, which range from zip-lining the jungles of Costa Rica to spending time with their children and grandchildren at the family cabins. Thanks for teaching us the meaning of love, patience and pursuing your goals, Mom and Dad. We love you!
