The Mount Helena Gymnastics girls team performed well at the recent Mt. Helena Open competition.

MHG’s Marlie Hammond and Mikelle Ballard won their Level 3 and Level 10 all-around division championships, respectively.

Hammond had PR 36.25 all-around and also won the vault, uneven parallel bars and balance beam. Ballard also scored a season-best all-around, while capturing the vault, beam and floor exercise events.

The Level 3 team finished runner-up to Bozeman’s Lone Mountain. Kiana Poulinwas placed second all-around in Junior A and was also runner-up on vault, bars and floor. Bella Yearry added a second on beam, while Delaney Stearns placed fourth on vault.

Addison Thalheimer garnered silver medals on beam and floor, while Bailey Olds added a runner-up on vault. Lily Yearry and Kenna Moore placed fourth and fifth on floor.

At Level 4, Abby Olson claimed second in all-around, beam and floor. Savannah Taylor won the vault and beam, and took runner-up all-around.

Avery Popp earned bronze on bars, while teammate Brailey Sublette finished second all-around in Senior C, with seconds on vault and floor and third on beam. Grace Crandell was third on vault and bars.

In the Level 6 meet, Emma McCauley scored a season high all-round and added the floor championship. Level 7’s Mikayla Hall and Emma Rohrer-Fitzhugh helped the team score with fourth and fifth places on bars.

Lily Bohler captured gold on Level 8 beam, while adding seconds on bars, floor and the all around. On vault, Shi Jia Sullivan took third, while teammate Reese Esponda finished fifth on beam.

The MHG boys garnered several event and all-around golds on the way to a third-place team finish.

Daniel Guiliani won the Level 4 all-around and combined that with first place finishes on floor and parallel bars. Teammate Shaunessy Scheinz claimed runner-up on pommel horse, while Level 5’s Landrie Jones took home the vault gold, along with a second on bars.

At level 6, MHG’s Jacob Jost was the high bar champion and Ryan Fuller added second place finishes on pommel horse and bars. Ben Pargot captured silver on vault and bars, while Brendon Brewer took fourth on high bar.
