The Sleeping Giant Lanes team took the first-week lead of the MTUSBC State Women's Bowling Tournament, which is being held at SGL.

Sleeping Giant Lanes (Peggy Cloninger, Jenny Chambers, Danielle Bolan, Kimberly Bolan) knocked down 2,158 pins to sit atop the Scratch division leaderboard, and also paced the Handicap Division A team standings with a score of 2,684.

Townsend's Jester's Women team leads the Handicap Division C event, compiling a 2,733.

In doubles, Danielle and Kimberly Bolan posted the highest score in the Handicap Division A, at 1,380 pins. They also pace the Scratch event with 1,175. Kimberly has the Scratch singles and Scratch all-events high marks, with a 552 and 1,709, respectively.

Jenny Chambers owns the opening week's best all-events Handicap 150 & Above score, at 2,091 pins.

The tourney will be at held at Sleeping Giant Lanes for the next five weekends.

After the third week of the MTUSBC State Open Bowling Tournament in Great Falls, Richard Franco and Katie Eslick are sitting in fourth place in the Scratch Doubles competition, tallying 1,282.

Also in fourth are the tandem of Michael James and Grady Stinchfield, with a score of 1,490 in the Doubles Handicap B Division.

The State Open will run for six more weekends in Great Falls.
