Local pool players place at TAP nationals

Treasure State TAP qualified an 8-ball team, a 9-ball team and eight individuals for the TAP National Championships, which were held Nov. 10 -13, at Bally’s in Las Vegas.

The highest local placers in the 8-ball tournament (65 players) were Bill Gill, who placed fourth, and Carl Haller, in seventh. In the 9-ball tourney (206 players), Dan Hamper finished fourth, followed by Lorraine Finstad in 15th. 

In the 2nd-chance team tournament, the “Blurred Vision” 9 ball team (J.T. Quillan, Haller, Kelly Strandberg, Denise Nielsen, Dean Fowler) took third place; while the “Just N’ Time” 8 ball team came in fifth.
