The Last Chance Riders Association (LCRA) is having the final race of the year for the High Country Motocross Association (HCMA) this Sunday. The event takes place at the LCRA track, at 4592 York Road, located 2 1/2 miles past Fox Ridge Golf Course.
The track’s gates will open on Friday at 6 p.m. for a $10 per person fee, although children 6 and under are free, except for riders. There is no practice on Saturday, due to preparation on the track for Sunday’s racing.
Sign-ups are Saturday from 5-8 p.m. and again Sunday 5:30-6:30 a.m. The riders meeting will take place at 6:45 a.m., with practice starting at 7 a.m. A parade lap will occur prior to the first race, commemorating an HCMA official who died earlier this year. Concessions and porta potties are available, and personal coolers are permissible.
PRO classes cost $40 each and Non PROs are $30 per class. A temporary license may be purchased for $20 per class if needed. A $1,000 bonus in prize money will be added to the PRO purse for all PRO races. The Helena races are double points races to end the HCMA year.
