The Townsend and Jefferson High wrestling teams will be competing at the Southern B/C Tournament in Anaconda on Saturday, with the top four placers in each weight class qualifying for next week's State Tournament in Billings.
Defending divisional champion Townsend, under coach John O'Dell, has two matmen with 30-plus wins. Nathan Gallegos owns a 32-10 mark (24 pins) at 138 pounds, while Kameron Rauser is 30-4 (22 pins) at 132.
Rounding out the Bulldogs' 20-match winners are Jack Dolan (29-6) at 126, Trey Owens (28-11) at 205, Derek Neel (26-10) at 160, Justin Large (25-10) at 182, Easton Held (24-5) at 113, Kyle Spritzer (22-11) at 170, and Will Lane (20-5) at 126.
Tyler Groh, a 2016 Southern B/C titlist, is 18-8 at 145 pounds. Rauser, Dolan, Gallegos and Large were division runners-up last year.
For Jefferson coach Troy Humphrey, three Panthers have produced 25-plus wins, including freshman Derek Nygaard (28-12, 28 pins) at 145, Nick Workman (28-11, 23 pins) at 205, and Nate Brunett (25-5, 22 pins) at 160. Heavyweight Nathan Rasch and Noah Anspach (170) both have 18 wins.
Brunett, Workman and Rasch are returning all-conference grapplers. JHS teammate Jacob Travis is a two-time returning all-conference and has been out most of the season, but will wrestle at 138.
