The Townsend football team has its work cut out for it tonight, as the Bulldogs host the No. 1 team in the state — the undefeated Manhattan Tigers in a District 5B match-up. Townsend is 4-1 and 2-0 in the conference, while Manhattan is 5-0, 2-0.

Last week, coach Travis Rauh’s Bulldogs beat Columbus 32-23 for the school’s first win over the Cougars.

The Tigers defeated Three Forks 63-26, behind QB Quinn McQueary, who fired three touchdown passes and ran for another. McQueary was 9 of 14 passing for 209 yards. Michael Daines ran a kickoff back 83 yards to the house and caught a 40-yard TD strike.

Manhattan’s defense pilfered five interceptions, led by Nathan Vanderby, who had three.
