HELENA -- Four Elkhorn-area basketball players -- two from Townsend and two from Jefferson High -- have been selected to the Class B all-state team.
Representing the state's third-place Townsend Lady Bulldogs are Tavia Rooney and Lainee Hill.
Hill, a 5-10 senior forward, averaged 10.5 points and 6.2 rebounds a game. Rooney, a 6-0 junior post, earned her second all-state award, while averaging a double-double, scoring 12.4 points and grabbing 10.5 rebounds per contest. She also led the team in blocks and steals.
Jefferson's all-staters are seniors Josh Eckmann and Aubrey McMaster.
Eckmann, a 6-4 forward/guard, paced the squad averaging 17.5 points and 7.8 rebounds, while topping the team in several other notable categories. McMaster, a 5-9 guard/forward, led the Lady Panthers (who qualified for divisionals) averaging 15.9 ppg and 2.3 assists.
All four cagers were chosen first team all-Southern B conference as well.
Elkhorn-area hoopsters making second team all-conference were Broadwater's Charlotte Watson, Catie Watson and Easton Hatfield, and JHS' Ellie Evertz.
