BOZEMAN — The Bozeman Hawks got the best of the Capital boys basketball team in the season opener on the road Tuesday, 66-38.

The Hawks led 13-9 after the first period, and 23-15 at halftime. Bozeman went on the outscore the Bruins 43-23 after the intermission.

Mack Anderson led a trio of Hawks in double figures with 16 points, ahead of Ryan Simpson and Ryan Lonergan, at 14 points apiece. The hosts out-shot the Bruins 46-28 percent from the floor.

Coach Guy Almquist's CHS team was led by sophomore Bridger Grovom's 10 points, and Cade Kidder with eight.

Bozeman held a 45-28 advantage under the boards, paced by Anderson's 11 rebounds. Peyton Koch grabbed seven boards for Capital.
