Thanks to marquee games in the Western AA last week, the 406mtsports.com AA rankings saw some reshuffling as Missoula Sentinel took over the top spot. The No. 1 teams in the other three classes remained the same with Columbia Falls leading Class A, Three Forks Class B and Belt Class C.

Defending champ Helena started last week as AA’s top-ranked team, but lost to Helena Capital in overtime and then to Sentinel. Sentinel also handed previously unbeaten and then No. 2 Capital its first loss, capping a big week for the Spartans.

Despite that loss, Capital went from No. 3 to No. 2 and Helena dropped to third.

The bottom third of Class B’s Top 10 continued to see turbulence. Roundup and Rocky Boy dropped out, paving way for the re-entry of Columbus and Eureka’s first appearance in the rankings.

Class B’s top two teams cross paths for the second time this season when Three Forks plays host to No. 2 Townsend on Saturday. Three Forks need a rally to beat Townsend 67-64 when the teams first met in early January.

On the boys side, things were a little less drastic. Missoula Sentinel continues to reign supreme in Class AA while Missoula Hellgate makes the list again, coming in at No. 5. Billings Senior, No. 2 a week ago, falls off of the list after a pair of losses.

The top six teams in Class B stay the same with unfeated Bigfork remaining at No. 1. The Vikings and No. 2 Colstrip are the last two undefeated Class B teams. Choteau makes its season debut, coming in at No. 7 while Anaconda makes the list again at No. 9. Missoula Loyola and Big Timber stay put while Whitehall and Florence both fall from the list.

Class C sees the top seven teams stay put, led by Arlee once again. Chinook moves up one spot to No. 8 while Great Falls Central drops a single spot to No. 9. Fairview makes its debut at No. 10, replacing Park City which lost to Bridger last week.
