Boys Basketball

Braxton Hill scored 33 points and moved into first place on Anaconda High's all-time career scoring list in an 80-75 Class B victory over Thompson Falls. Hill passed Copperhead legend Ed Kalafat, whose mark of 1,614 points had stood for 68 years. Hill will play football for Montana as a grayshirt. Danny Hoisington scored 36 for Thompson Falls.

• Emilio Old Bull’s 3-pointer at the buzzer lifted Hardin to a 66-63 overtime victory over Sidney in the Eastern A. Sidney trailed by as many as 11 in the fourth quarter. Hardin’s Famous Left Hand scored 27 points to lead all scorers. Aaron Entz led Sidney with 18.

• Payton Petersen and Nathan Brown stole the show in Lincoln's 88-56 Class C win over Alberton-Superior. Brown scored 45 points and Petersen had a double-double with 30 points and 22 rebounds. Three freshmen paced the Mountain Cats: Bryan Mask led with 22 points, Danner Haskins added 11 and Carson Callison chipped in 10. 

• Sunburst’s Treyton Pickering had 18 field goals and was 6-for-10 from the free-throw line for a total of 42 points in the sixth-ranked Refiners' 82-59 Class C win over Augusta. 

Philip Malatare scored 37 points and Will Mesteth chipped in with 21 as top-ranked Arlee (15-0) rolled to a 45-6 first-quarter lead and cruised to a 95-19 Class C win over St. Regis.

Kobee Bigback scored 22 points and Isaiah Williams added 14 as second-ranked Colstrip (15-0) fended off Lodge Grass 73-64 in a Class B showdown. Elijah Rogers topped the Indians with 25 points. 

Sayer Patton had 31 points, including four 3-pointers, as Choteau beat Jefferson 66-45 in a Class B game.

Girls Basketball

Alyssia Vanderburg, a junior who recently surpassed 1,000 points for her career, poured in 35 points as 10th-ranked Arlee cruised past St. Regis 57-41 in a battle of two of the top Class C programs in western Montana. Vanderburg, who has 1,075 points in three years for Arlee, made six 3-pointers.

• Missoula Sentinel knocked off the last remaining undefeated team in Class AA play — boys or girls — in Helena Capital, 51-32. Lexi Deden paced the Spartans with 15 points and Emma Blakely scored 12.

• Double-doubles from Tavia Rooney and Lainee Hill lifted second-ranked Townsend (13-1) to a 62-25 Class B romp over Manhattan. Rooney had 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and Hill added 15 points and 10 boards.  

Sydnie Peterson dropped in 34 points as Anaconda cruised past Thompson Falls 89-68 in a Class B matchup. Megan Baxter led Thompson Falls with 25.

Jaime Berg tossed in 17 points as No. 3 Bigfork rallied from a four-point halftime deficit to down No. 10 Missoula Loyola 58-54 in a Class B matchup in Missoula. The game was tied 40-40 after three quarters. Tessa Burke topped Loyola with 26 points.

• Eighth-grader Draya Wacker scored 24 points to lead Melstone to a 50-47 Class C win over Jordan.

Cariann Kunkel scored a game-high 18 points to help third-ranked Hamilton (14-1, 7-0) rally from a six-point halftime deficit to defeat Butte Central 46-41 in a Southwest A matchup.
