Helena Wrestling Club shows

well in Anaconda tournament

The Helena Wrestling Club had 21 wrestlers place at the Anaconda Smelter City Smackdown tournament. Noah Weldon-Wiggins led the way as he was first in his weight class.

Second-place finishers were Ashlyn Eblen, Michael Smith, Ian Mehrens, and Josh Petersen. Third-place finishers were Cannon Percival, Caleb Weldon-Wiggins, Titus Rasmussen and Boston Lay. Avery Severson was fourth.

Fifth-place finishers were Kate Downing (first in girls bracket), Halen Glueckert, Parker Snellman, Colin Mehrens and Brody Ambrose. Sixth-place finishers were Malaki Kindt, Kamron Burcar, CJ Downing, Mason Eblen and Peyton Severson.

Helena skiers have strong

showing at Big Sky

Several Helena skiers had strong showing at recent competitions at the Big Sky Resort There was USSA (US Ski and Snowboard) Northern Division event and one for USASA (USA Snowboard and Freeski Association).

Helena’s place winners included: USSA Male Senior Slopestyle, Grant Lambrecht; Freesky Open, Lambrecht; USASA Slopestyle: Boys Freeski Breaker (12-13), Joey Culpo.

Other standout performances came in Freeski Youth (14-15) Keenan Morrison, third; Freeski Junior (16-17) Brendon Ralph, second; Hunter Bullman, fourth; Kaleb Nuebel, fifth; Freeski Jams (18-22) Cody Reichert, second. 

USASA Railjam: Boys (10-13) Joel Culpo, second; Men (14 and over) Brendon Ralph, fourth; Keenan Morrison, fifth; Kaleb Nuebel, sixth; Hunter Bullman, seventh; Open Class Men Grant Lambrecht, first.

Two local youth boxers win

matches in Spokane

The H Town Eagles boxing club competed in Spokane, Washington, this past weekend going 2-for-2. Anthony Espino, 10, at 85 pounds defeated Ricky Moreno From Boise, Idaho.

Sage Ewart, 14, at 106 pounds defeated Kaleena Fuentes From Great Falls. With the win she improved her record to four wins with one loss.

That H Town Eagles boxing club will host an event this Saturday at the Eagles Lodge. Tickets are $8 in advance, children 8-and-under are free. Tickets are available at the Eagles Lodge. Opening bell is at 7 p.m.
