wrestling; Crosstown

Helena High’s Austin Murphy and Capital High’s Wyatt Schnieder face off under the light in the Bears Den Friday night.

HELENA — It's crosstown wrestling II as the regular season winds down and the two local mat teams prepare for divisionals.

The Helena High will host the season's second intra-city match, with the first whistle scheduled for 7 p.m. tonight in The Jungle.

Capital won the first meeting a month ago in the Bears' Den right before Christmas, 45-27.

The Bruins own a 5-14 record in dual matches, while the Bengals are 2-17.

Helena, under coach John Burke, went 1-3 at the Great Falls Duals last weekend and are led by three grapplers with winning records.

A state champion from a year ago, Isaac Romero owns a sparkling 28-3 mark with 16 pins at 113 pounds. Devin Crawford, at 138, is the winningest Bengals with a 32-6 record and 18 pins. And at 126, Austin Murphy is 27-10 with 13 pins.
