HELENA — After posting a 4-0 record since its last ranking, the newly minted No. 6 Carroll College men’s basketball team is the highest ranked of three nationally ranked teams in the Frontier Conference.
The Saints surged from the No. 14 spot after wins over Providence, Montana State-Northern, Montana Tech and Rocky Mountain College. The Saints are currently on a five-game winning streak.
Carroll’s ascension moves the Saints past Montana Western, which fell from the No. 8 spot to No.10 this week. Western went 3-1 over the past two weeks, falling only to Lewis-Clark State 101-96 in overtime.
Carroll and Western are tied atop the Frontier standings with 10-4 records. Each team owns a home win over the other.
Lewis-Clark State is the third ranked team in the Frontier, holding firm at the No. 19 spot this week. The Warriors also went 3-1 since the last ranking, earning a big win over Western, but also falling to Montana Tech, 68-66.
