It must feel good to be King.
A day after being named the Frontier Conference's player of the week, the NAIA recognized Montana Western guard Brianna King as the top player in the nation for the Week of Jan. 15-21.
The NAIA player of the week is selected from a pool of players that also were recognized by their conference.
King led the Bulldogs to a resurgence in the week. Western took down two Top 25-ranked teams in Dillon and looked like a fully healthy team for the first time in conference play.
The Bulldogs knocked off No. 10-ranked Carroll College and No. 18-ranked Rocky Mountain College. The 5-5 junior guard from Spokane, Washington, averaged 22.5 points in the wins.
King becomes the first Frontier Conference player to win the award this season.
