HELENA -- The Frontier Conference named Carroll College sophomore linebacker Parker Bernhardt its defensive player of the week on Monday.
Bernhardt helped the Saints to a 24-15 win over Montana Western on Saturday at Nelson Stadium. The sophomore accounted for nine total tackles, one for a loss, and a game-sealing interception. He was a part of a Carroll defense that held Western to 80 yards rushing.
Bernhardt on Saturday said of his interception: "They were beating us on corner routes all day. I was really trying to overplay that corner route. It was kind of a lazy post he broke. When he broke it, I kept my eyes on the quarterback and kept my hand on his hip and broke on the ball. It was pretty routine."
The Saints close out the regular season with a road trip to Eastern Oregon on Saturday.
