Five Carroll softball players were recognized by the Cascade Collegiate Conference on Monday, headlined by catcher Tianna Sell and center fielder Paige Blake.
Sell, a freshman, was named first-team All-CCC after leading Carroll in batting average (.404.), slugging percentage (.636) and was a co-leader in RBI (28). She was also second on the team in home runs (4).
Blake, a sophomore, was a second-team All-CCC selection after leading the Saints in steals (15), runs (22), walks (12) and on-base percentage (.455) during the regular season. She was second on the team in batting average (.368) and hits (42).
Junior outfielder Courtney Cloud and sophomore first baseman Allison Bayer were awarded Golden Gloves by the conference. Cloud (.982 fielding percentage) and Bayer (.997) each committed a single error.
Bayer, who was also an All-CCC honorable mention, was just as menacing offensively in the regular season, leading Carroll in hits (49), home runs (5) and was a co-leader in RBI (28).
Junior pitcher Megan Gipe was also an honorable mention, posting a 3.37 ERA while striking out 57 batters and walking 39. Offensively she batted .319 and was second on the team in home runs (4).
Carroll finished 24-22 in the program's second season, winning the CCC's Eastern Division title.
