Carroll College's softball team was picked to finish fifth in the Cascade Conference preseason coaches' poll, released Tuesday.

The Saints finished last season 25-23 and won the East Division to earn a trip to the Cascade Conference tournament during just the second season in program history.

The Saints return the bulk of that squad, including first team All-Conference honoree Tianna Sell and a pair of Cascade honorable mentions in Allison Bayer and Megan Gipe. Also returning is Courtney Cloud, who joined Bayer on the Cascade Conference Gold Glove team.

Oregon Tech was picked to win the league after finishing the season with a 30-22 record. Southern Oregon was picked second, College of Idaho third and Corban fourth.
