Carroll College junior defender Maddie Klepps underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus and ACL this week, women's soccer coach Dave Thorvilson said. Klepps injured her knee against Whitworth on Sept. 11 at Nelson Stadium.
Klepps sent a text on Tuesday and informed Thorvilson that the surgery had gone well.
“Unfortunately, for her, it's her second one,” Thorvilson said of the injury. “She knows what she’s in for. Her dad is an orthopedician in Billings. His partner did the surgery. His partner does more lower body joints, from what I understand.”
Klepps, who graduated from Billings Senior, will remain in Billings and then travel back to Helena with the team after it plays Rocky Mountain College on Sunday.
Klepps had appeared in six games, starting each one while recording 431 minutes on the pitch. Klepps appeared in three games last season, and five games as a freshman. With Klepps in the lineup, the Saints (6-3-1) went 3-3 and gave up six goals while recording three clean sheets.
Klepps will have a season of eligibility remaining.
“Unbelievably ready to take on these next 9 months,” she wrote on Twitter Tuesday evening.
