The Lewis-Clark State College golf program was dominant in the final round of the Frontier Conference Meet No. 3, sealing a pair of regular-season conference championships. It's just the third time in the program's history that both teams have won the regular-season crown in the same season, joining the 2006 and 2013 teams.
The men posted their second sub-300 round of the event, the only team with at least one, with a 295 to finish the 54-hole event with an 893. Rocky Mountain took second with a 945. Carroll finished fourth on Tuesday, carding a 976.
Justin Galiher paced the Saints, finishing with a 235 to take seventh.
The LC men bested RMC by 98 strokes to win the regular season.
In the women's event, LC shaved 12 strokes off their round one score for a 329, finishing the event with a 36-hole total of 670, 20 strokes better than Rocky Mountain (690). The 20 strokes gave LC a 35-stroke victory in the regular season standings, the first regular season title since 2013.
Carroll's women placed fourth on Tuesday, shooting a 734. Lexi Pyette took ninth with a 175, one stroke ahead of teammate Katie Goins' 176.
The golf teams now turn their sights to the Frontier Conference Tournament Championship held at ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Arizona, April 18-20. The winner of the event earns the conference's automatic berth to the NAIA National Championships in May.
