Carroll College football coach Mike Van Diest announced the signing of junior college transfer Ryan Beaulieu on Tuesday. He is a defensive back originally from Las Vegas, but transferring from Pima Community College in Phoenix.

Beaulieu, at 5-foot-11 and 185-pounds, brings a wealth of experience from his time at Pima. He racked up 45 tackles and two interceptions in 19 games over his two seasons at Pima, earning all-conference honors in 2016.

He also excelled in the return game, where he totaled 518 yards returning kickoffs and punts.

Before his time at Pima, he spent a redshirt season at UNLV.

In high school, he was a three-time All-State selection. He played defensive back, wide receiver and returned kicks. He also ran track.

"We are very excited to add a player of Ryan's ability at this time of the year," Van Diest said. "He can play anywhere in the secondary and will make an immediate impact. We also expect Ryan to help in the return game."

Beaulieu will make his way to campus during summer workouts and begin school at Carroll in the fall where he will major in communications.
