MISSOULA — The postseason keeps getting sweeter for Montana's Gresch Jensen and Montana State's Troy Andersen

Jensen, Montana's redshirt freshman quarterback, was named to Hero Sports' FCS Freshman All-America team on Monday.

The Auburn, Washington, native finished the year with 2,531 yards passing, 203 yards rushing and 26 total touchdowns.

Jensen is arguably the best freshman quarterback to ever play for the Grizzlies. Of the 10-best freshman quarterback passing performances in school history, Jensen accounts for six of them — including the top five.

This isn't the first postseason accolade to come Jensen's way. He finished third in the voting for the STATS FCS Jerry Rice Award and was named Montana football's offensive MVP.

Andersen, of Dillon, was named Big Sky Conference freshman of year in November. He capped his true freshman season at MSU by rushing for 64 yards and two touchdowns in a 31-23 home win over Montana.

He gained 515 yards on the season, most among Big Sky Conference freshmen, and rushed for five touchdowns. He also caught seven passes for 45 yards and a touchdown.

At mid-season, Andersen began playing linebacker in addition to running back. He had nine tackles, and also started regularly on MSU's coverage and return units on special teams.

Other Big Sky Conference freshmen to make the list: Weber State's offensive lineman Tyler Downs, Southern Utah's wide receiver Landen Measom, Weber State's kicker Trey Tuttle, Weber State's return specialist Rashid Shaheed and Eastern Washington's special teams specialist Anfernee Gurley.

North Dakota's linebacker Jake Rastas was the lone player from the league to earn an honorable mention nod.
