BOZEMAN — Montana State linebacker Josh Hill on Monday was named Big Sky Conference defensive player of the week.

Hill, a redshirt freshman from Kalispell, made eight tackles, forced a fumble and had a second-quarter interception during the Bobcats’ 24-17 victory over rival Montana on Saturday in Missoula.

Hill and MSU’s defense limited the Grizzlies to 305 total yards, 177 yards below their season average.

The Big Sky’s offensive player of the week honor went to UC Davis running back Manu Luuga, who rushed for a career-high 249 yards on 38 carries in the Aggies’ 48-30 victory over Sacramento State.

The special teams nod went to Southern Utah punter Tate Lewis. Lewis averaged 43.3 yards on six punts in the Thunderbirds’ 48-20 victory over Northern Arizona.
