Helena Senators second baseman Colin Sassano has been selected to the 2017 Class AA Legion All-State baseball team.

Sassano was the team's second-leading hitter this year, with a .388 batting average. He led the squad with 47 runs and six triples, and was No. 2 with 64 hits, .474 on-base percentage and .527 slugging percentage.

The versatile Sassano was also an All-State safety for the 2016 Capital High Bruins football team, and a member of CHS' 1,600 relay unit, which placed fourth at the Western AA Divisional Track Meet last spring. He played hockey for the high school Helena Bighorns, as well.

Senators teammates earning AA Legion Eastern all-conference awards were shortstop Kienan Stief, third baseman Ray Moore, Jr., and catcher Carter Pappas.

In Class A, Helena Reps awarded Southern all-conference selections were shortstop Matt Krieger, outfielder Ty McGurran and Grady Koening as a utility player.
