The Helena Reps' Legion baseball season came to an end in Butte on Saturday, as the Reps bowed out of the Southern Class A District tournament after a 9-7 loss to Bozeman.
The Bucks entered the seventh inning trailing 7-2, but pushed across seven runs in their half of the stanza, and then shut out Helena in the bottom of the seventh for the come from behind win.
"The ball just didn't bounce our way today," said coach Jon Burnett, whose Reps finish the year at 44-15. "Those last three outs of a game can be hard to get sometimes."
The Reps outhit the Bucks 9-6, but were plagued by seven errors. Helena scored one in the first frame, four in the fourth and two in the sixth.
Caeden Suro went 3 for 4 for Helena, with a run scored and an RBI, while Grady Koening pasted a two-run double. Teammate Riley Chisholm stroked a double and a single.
Starting pitcher Hunter Sickerson took a one-hitter into the seventh, and finished with a complete-game 6-hitter. All nine of his runs allowed were unearned.
"We had a very successful season, the guys learned a lot about the game and improved significantly," Burnett said. "I'm excited to watch this group of guys grow .. they're a talented bunch and will only get better."
