A rattled and inconsistent Saints women's basketball team took the floor Saturday night in a poor performance against the Westmont Warriors losing 58-47.

The Saints started the season off on the right foot going 4-0, Carroll has since dropped their third consecutive game to fall to 4-3 on the year.

"There is nothing good to say about this game," Saints head coach Shawn Nelson said.

Carroll came out slow falling to a 10-3 deficit in the early minutes of the game.

"We didn't run our offense at all," Nelson said. "There was to much one-on-one and no team play."

Jill Jagelski, who was instrumental in a first half comeback, scored eight points in a 10-2 run by the Saints that put Carroll down by one, 26-25, at half.

It was downhill from there. The Saints returned to the floor in the second half and immediately let the Warriors go on a 14-2 run.

"We got rattled," Nelson said. "We couldn't get them settled down."

Carroll was on the verge of putting together a run several times late in the second half but any momentum the Saints built was ended by turnovers. Carroll finished the game with 20 total turnovers.

The Saints two leading scorers, Elly Bruursema and Alysha Green, combined for a total of 37 points Friday against Azusa Pacific, were non-existent on the floor.

"They were not ready to go," Nelson said. "Elly didn't let the game come to her."

Bruursema shot a dismal 2-13 from the field including 1-6 from behind the arc.

Bruursema finished with seven points and Green with three.

Jagelski led the Saints with 11 points and Haley Pettit tossed in eight points and grabbed seven rebounds.
