As I prepare to wrap up my last semester at the University of Montana, I can’t help but to reflect on all of the experiences that made my college experience wholesome and memorable. From tailgating outside of Washington Grizzly Stadium before a football game, or hiking the M, to even the late night cramming sessions I dreaded because of my procrastination before a big exam. There are so many valuable memories that have shaped my college tenure and I will be forever grateful for each and every one of them.
However, while reflecting on my four-year journey, I have realized that being able to even attend college is a luxury in and of itself that many young and intellectually gifted Montanans never get to experience because of costs. Which is why I’m asking my fellow citizens of this great state to vote in favor of the 6-Mill Levy this November. The 6 Mill levy is a levy that Montanans vote on every 10 years that provides basic annual support for Montana’s system of higher education.
If this levy is voted down, tuition in Montana could raise by 18 percent. Education is a basic principle for prosperity. Please support this levy!
