Helena lost a beloved local business when Captain Jack’s Restaurant closed its doors late last month.
Located inside Helena Regional Airport, Captain Jack’s was a favorite eatery for travelers and locals alike.
And the friendly owners and wait staff who worked there served as ambassadors of our community, as they were often the first people to welcome out-of-town visitors to Helena.
The restaurant’s closure leaves a void both at the airport and in the Helena community as a whole.
And while it will be difficult for anyone to fill Captain Jack’s shoes, we’re hoping for a quick and smooth transition as airport officials seek the restaurant’s replacement.
It’s always encouraging to see people recognized for their exceptional work, especially when they’re not expecting it.
During this week’s Helena Chamber of Commerce awards luncheon, Valley Bank was honored as 2016 Business of the Year, partly for its strong principles and support of various organizations and causes.
The award for Small Business of the Year went to Jim and Shelle Enyeart, owners of Home Beautifiers, who were described as “stalwart supporters of community and business organizations.”
Morrison Maierle Inc. President Bob Morrison, winner of the George D. Anderson Business Person of the Year Award, was recognized for growing the business to include 300 employees and 12 offices.
These were just a few of the exceptional Helena business people who received well-deserved accolades during this week’s chamber event.
And we want to take this opportunity to thank these professionals and all the unsung heroes out there for creating the thriving local business community that we all enjoy today.
