In a wave of police shootings and controversy surrounding police departments across the nation, it’s refreshing to remember that most police officers are normal people just like us with a very difficult job.

At least, that’s what people say, mmm hmm.

Over the weekend, the Dover, Delaware police department released a video on YouTube they’re calling a “Dashcam Confessional.” Rather than a high-octane, intense video of a car chase, the video depicts a police officer in his patrol car jamming out to Taylor Swift’s hit song “Shake It Off.”

The best part is that this officer is clearly a bit self-conscious about being seen jamming out. As he drives about town, he stops as he perceives other people on the street may be seeing what he’s doing. Then, once he thinks he's in the clear, all bets are off.

The video has so far gathered more than 18 million views on YouTube and even attracted the attention of Taylor Swift herself.

Don’t scoff. You know you’ve jammed out hard in the car when you thought no one was looking.
